About the Book

There are many reasons to start a dream journal if you haven’t already. Dream journals can help you to increase your memory of dreams and thus increase periods of lucid dreaming. Dreams can also fuel your creativity and be used to stimulate artistic or creative endeavours. Keeping a dream journal can help you connect with the stories in your mind and analyze them in a variety of ways. Dreams can be analyzed from a creative perspective by focusing on the protagonist and antagonist that emerges, or problems can be analyzed through resolutions that may be presented. Dreams also offer the opportunity to understand archetypal and personal symbolism through the imagery that appears. The Dream Journal is 240 pages and 7.5 x 9.25 inches in size.

Qn 1: Can you tell us more about your book What is it about?

Dream Journal: A Personal Map for the Road You Travel

I constructed this dream journal based on my personal experiences with dream journaling. I’ve kept a dream journal for over 10 years. I have found that journaling has helped me with writing my novels. I also found that I was able to have more lucid dreams the more I recorded them. The journal is constructed from the perspective of a novelist and includes a focus on identifying not only symbols within a dream but also the protagonist and antagonist in a dream.

Qn 2: Who do you think would be interested in this book, is it directed at any particular market?

I believe that all writer’s should write and analyze their dreams. Dreams can unveil stories that they may not have uncovered any other way. Dreams are is also an excellent tool for personal development. As you become familiar with the storytelling that takes place each night in your mind you can learn many things about your fears, dreams and maybe even things in your life you try to tuck away and not face. Analyzing dreams as a part of the story of your life can help you grow as an individual.

Qn 3: Out of all the books in the world, and all the authors, which are your favourite and why?

I am a huge fan of anything Neil Gaiman. He is one of the most imaginative writers I’ve ever encountered and his knowledge of folklore is astounding. Otherwise, Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy is my favourite book and influenced me even before I knew about Gaiman.

Qn 4: What guidance would you offer to someone new, or trying to enhance their writing?

Write a journal every opportunity you get. I not only keep a journal of my dreams, but I have writing and doodling journals. I’m quite obsessed with journaling. I have written three novels. The last novel I wrote, I feel, was the best and it’s really the only one that I sat down and did a very constructed novel outline for before writing. I outlined all the characters, each scene, every chapter and even settings.
