Eating the National Food Day Calendar by Aaron J Friedman

About the Book

This was a fun journey through the year of eating and drinking and almost a scavenger hunt several times. Even after the book was published, friends and even acquaintances became aware that such a calendar existed and they contact me to ask if I am eating what is being celebrated. I have had people who have the book tell me they now contact their friends and relatives and let them know what is being celebrated on a certain day. This helps people connect.

About the Author

I am a neurologist who was fascinated by hearing on the radio or television or seeing in a newspaper that for most days a celebration of food or drink had designated. My quest was to follow this calendar and once I started the quest, my family and eventually friends kept up with me and connected with me some even joining in on some days.

Qn 1: Can you tell us more about your book What is it about?

I followed the National Day Calendar, a published calendar, that has for most days a food or drink. On most days, I drank or ate whatever the calendar celebrated and I included some recipes and pictures. I did a podcast on “Tip Of The Tongue” in April this year.

Qn 2: Who do you think would be interested in this book, is it directed at any particular market?

Foodies. Amazon has it listed under Soul Food Cooking and Guided Journals although I think anyone would like to follow along.

Qn 3: Out of all the books in the world, and all the authors, which are your favourite and why?

John Grisham, Ann B. Ross, M. C. Beaton, Margaret Mitchell, Walter Issacson. I like the way each of these authors write and I particularly like their stories. I like the mysteries of Grisham and Beaton and the humor of Ross. Although Margaret Mitchell wrote only one book it is one of my favorite novels. Walter Issacson can make a non-fiction story readable.

Qn 4: What guidance would you offer to someone new, or trying to enhance their writing?

Just sit and write until you find something that you write makes you feel comfortable.

Qn 5: Where can our readers find out more about you, do you have a website, or a way to be contacted?

Listen to the podcast of “Tip of the Tongue”.
