Qn 1: Can you tell us more about your book What is it about?
This book is a story about Keisha. A street girl who thought she knew everything and had this world on lock. But little did she know the same streets that raise her preyed on her. Keisha’s sets herself on a path to find her freedom, self-worth and most importantly her voice. This novella is one that will take you for a ride.
Qn 2: Who do you think would be interested in this book, is it directed at any particular market?
I think women across the world would be interested in my book. As women, we often deal with things we are too ashamed to speak about, such as sexual abuse,
domestic violence, and depression. Only when we break the cycle, we then heal ourselves do we discover our voice.
Qn 3: Out of all the books in the world, and all the authors, which are your favourite and why?
I love anything, James Baldwin. He is my absolute favourite. His numerous essays and books just speak to my soul. His writings give a broad perspective on life. I also love anything written by Sista Souljah, Toni Morrison, and Eric Michael Dyson. These authors are just raw in their writings. Whether it’s giving us straight facts or creating fictional stories, they have the ability to make you just want to hear more.
Qn 4: What guidance would you offer to someone new, or trying to enhance their writing?
The guidance I would offer someone new that’s trying to enhance their writing is to take your time there is no rush to writing. Put all the emotions you are feeling about your characters into descriptive text. Also, watch your transitions between chapters.
Qn 5: Where can our readers find out more about you, do you have a website, or a way to be contacted?
