About the Author

My name is Yolette Caprice and I was born on July 31st and raised in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. I spend a lot of my time with the people closest to me and some of my hobbies include writing, baking, graphic designing, doing makeup, and drawing. After graduating from high school I then moved to Orlando, Florida with my family to attend Valencia College, and after my second year I then transferred to Southeastern University, with a current major in Theology and Ministry to focus on Children, Family, and Youth Ministry. A lot of my time nowadays consists of making plans for the future and spending time with my family.

Qn 1: Can you tell us more about your book What is it about?

I wrote this book to inspire and to encourage girls everywhere who are growing and learning and need someone that they can relate to. I wanted to be able to relate to someone and share part of my life with someone—anyone—who had something in common with me. I believe in girls and our strength and our wisdom. I believe that we should all continue to encourage one another to be better and make smarter decisions. This book addresses girls who are facing certain obstacles in their lives and who have experienced pain and stress or loss in some way. I wanted to make this book direct and to be as transparent as possible, while still being relatable to the larger number of girls. I hope that after reading this book more and more girls are encouraged to lift up each other and to do better for themselves and to love themselves even more.

Qn 2: Who do you think would be interested in this book, is it directed at any particular market?

This book is directed towards girls everywhere in the world, all-inclusive—of all ages and races. I think that girls my age and older would be more interested in reading a book like this one. I am twenty-two years old and this book is exactly what I would be needing right now if I were to be in need of encouragement and peace of mind and time away from all that I may be going through.

Qn 3: Out of all the books in the world, and all the authors, which are your favourite and why?

Out of all the books in the world, I would say Nancy Drew books have been some of my favorites because I love a good mystery. I love any book that keeps me on edge and wanting to keep turning the page all the way until the end of the book. Another book that has always been my favorite of all time is the Bible. There is nothing more encouraging than scripture, in my own opinion. It fills me with hope and strengthens my faith.

Qn 4: What guidance would you offer to someone new, or trying to enhance their writing?

I would tell them to always read as if you are reading their work for the first time. Don’t read as someone who is editing or as the writer, instead read as someone who is reading something new. Ask yourself “Is this something that I would read if someone referred this to me?”, “Does it catch my attention the way I want it to for others?”. Don’t be too hard on yourself either. Everything that you type or write brings you one step closer to your big finale. Make every word count.

Qn 5: Where can our readers find out more about you, do you have a website, or a way to be contacted?
