Rather than telling people what they need to do to achieve their goals, he focuses on guiding them to discover solutions for themselves.

Can you tell us more about your book What is it about?

Fire Your Job, Hire Your Passion is about the journey between the life we live in the present, to the life that we desire to live going forward. It speaks directly to the shared roots of our human experience when it comes to facing the insecurities that stifle the growth required to fully embrace our passions. There are many people that suffer from a lack of fulfillment with their current employment situation. The book helps to liberate the reader from the bondage of their obligations to work and shifts that power back to the more meaningful spaces in our lives. It is not so much about quitting a job but removing the mentalities that do not serve who we are striving to become.

Who do you think would be interested in this book, is it directed at any particular market?

I believe that Fire Your Job, Hire Your Passion was written for people who feel like they have been stuck spinning their wheels in a routine of average activities in both their professional and personal lives. Whether someone needs to be uplifted, encouraged, or reminded about the amazing gifts that they are capable of bringing to the table, they will find something in this book that speaks to their specific circumstances.

Out of all the books in the world, and all the authors, which are your favorite and why?

My number one all-time favorite would be The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen R. Covey. The book holds timeless values and core competencies that have continued to resonate throughout my life. Prior to writing a book, this was the book that I recommended to my clients.

Number two on that list would be The Like Switch by Jack Schafer, Ph.D. & Marvin Karlins, Ph.D. This book provided me with insights as to why my connections with strangers felt effortless. By understanding why we build resonance with others, it empowered me to intentionally connect deeply with people which as a result removed the barriers from having my content received.

Finally, number three on the list would either be Chop Wood Carry Water by Joshua Medcalf or The Happiness Advantage by Shawn Achor. Both books taught me about the importance of grasping the joy of the process. Without this as a part of my foundation, I would never have been able to complete Fire Your Job, Hire Your Passion.

What guidance would you offer to someone new, or trying to enhance their writing?

It is always going to come down to practice and consumption. When people I encourage to journal first start journaling, they struggle to write 3 sentences. However, through consistent practice within a short period of time, they become capable of writing pages. The consumption part has to do with what types of content you feed your mind. If we give space to low vibrating energies (books, media, music, relationships, etc.), our writings will reflect that energy when we begin to articulate our thoughts. The importance of consuming nutrient-rich content is critical to the development of a writer.
