Qn 2: Who do you think would be interested in this webtoon, I Married a Monster on a Hill, is it directed at any particular market?

This is a great series for anyone who loves wholesome relationships, slice-of-life stories, and easy-reading comics. “I Married a Monster on a Hill” is heavily inspired by Yonkoma manga which generally consists of gag comic strips within four panels. It’s a scenario-based series that avoids extreme drama and focuses mainly on problem-solving.

If you’re familiar with Yaoi, also known as Boys’ Love (BL) it’s a genre of fiction in anime, manga and other media that features relationships between male characters. Over the years, it has been criticized for its poor representation of relationships between men which often reinforces harmful stereotypes and lack of representation of the LGBTQ+ community. A lot of the stories lack any meaningful exploration of the characters’ identities and make them so stereotypical that it’s not relatable at all.

We created “I Married a Monster on a Hill” with several LGBTQ+ creators including voice actors, beta-readers, editors, and writers. “I Married a Monster on a Hill” focuses on showing everyone that LGBTQ+, straight, interracial, and any type of couple can have healthy relationships without being forced under a stereotype. The simple message is just to let people live happy, normal lives, and that not all Boys Love series need to focus on extreme drama or weird fantasies. Characters should just be characters and not be forced under some type of stereotype for who they love.

The main goal is just to bring smiles to people’s faces as much as we can!
