L.A. Dreams @AMMorrell2

About the Book

It’s the 1993 L.A. music scene, complete with drugs, parties, alcohol and women, but twenty-seven-year-old Cory Scott is only interested in one thing. The success of his band Suicide King. His best friend died trying to make it happen and Cory will stop at nothing to make their rock star dream a reality. For himself, his best friend’s memory and for his bandmates. When infamous music legend Alexandra Blake agrees to produce their debut album, all Cory has to do is keep the band together and keep her interested in them long enough to finish the album. Simple enough. Until he meets Alexandra. With one glance at her everything else becomes secondary. The deeper he falls for her and she falls for him-the more torn Cory becomes between the bandmates who depend on him, the music he thought he was there for, and the woman he needs more than air in his lungs.

L.A. DREAMS is about the bonds of friendship, falling in love, and following your dreams. It’s a debut novel about the choices and sacrifices one must make when pursuing a dream of fame and fortune.

Qn 1: Can you tell us more about your book What is it about?

This book has so many nuances in it that touch on growth, relationships, and dealing with unknowns. It’s about getting your priorities straight and creating your own path. There are bonds of friendship and love that are tested at every corner. The characters are well crafted and the bromance, romance and heartaches will leave you wanting more.

Qn 2: Who do you think would be interested in this book, is it directed at any particular market?

It’s a mixed genre kind of setting so in my opinion it will appeal as much to millennials as much as to any age group up to probably mid-sixties. It has a few delicate scenes and it does contain drinking, drug use, strong language and some one night stands. Musicians, dreamers, and basically anyone that has ever had a long burning dream will appreciate the storyline.

Qn 3: Out of all the books in the world, and all the authors, which are your favourite and why?

Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Less than Zero, Angela’s Ashes I like stories that get deep into a person’s thoughts and beliefs whether I agree with them or not.

Qn 4: What guidance would you offer to someone new, or trying to enhance their writing?

Just stick with it. Even when others scoff.

Qn 5: Where can our readers find out more about you, do you have a website, or a way to be contacted?
