About the Author

Hi Friends,

My name is Carly. I am a self-proclaimed home chef to three children, one husband, and one serious mess of a dog.
I currently reside in Arizona and have a passion for travel and culture. I will always be a small-town girl and redneck at heart who enjoys horseback riding, rodeo, and barn dances.
My love of cooking has evolved over the years when I once was a single mother and became responsible for keeping someone alive other than myself. It was then when I ditched the ramen and kraft and threw my all into learning to cook.
I now create unique and fun recipes on a weekly basis, create and publish cookbooks and recipe books, and will soon launch a food blog.
Hey, if my picky children and dog still eat my food, that is enough validation for me.

Qn 1: Can you tell us more about your book What is it about?

Hi there! My book is a blank recipe book that allows my readers to document their own recipes in which can be passed down to their children and so on and so forth. I really miss having dinner at my grandma’s house and wish I had a record of her recipes. Now that she has passed away, those recipes have been lost forever, which is what inspired me to create this recipe record book. How often do we pin hundreds of recipes that we never look at again or maybe rip a page out of magazine and then lose it in our messy kitchen drawers? I felt this was a wonderful solution to keep all your favorite recipes organized and in one place, and what a wonderful gift to pass down in the family.

Qn 2: Who do you think would be interested in this book, is it directed at any particular market?

I would say anyone who enjoys cooking would enjoy keeping a record of their recipes but really this book can be enjoyed by any mother or father who wants to pass down their recipes to their children or grandchildren, or anyone who wants a nice book to keep track of all their favorite recipe creations. It makes for a wonderful Christmas or birthday present as well. I think anything involving family lineage is special for any market.

Qn 3: Out of all the books in the world, and all the authors, which are your favourite and why?

Harlan Coben. He is quite the opposite of a cookbook or recipe book author, in fact, he writes suspenseful murder novels, haha, but his novels are amazing. He has a way of blending the perfect amount of humor in with suspense and always manages to keep his readers on their toes. He has been my favorite author for several years, and his novels are always my go-to on long plane rides to pass the time quickly.

Qn 4: What guidance would you offer to someone new, or trying to enhance their writing?

I would suggest to just dive in and start writing. Write your ideas down, start your book or story, and worry about grammar and writing later. Too many times we worry about perfecting our project that we never start it to begin with. If you have a dream of being a writer or have an idea you want to share, create it! Adjustments and corrections can always be made later on but if you don’t start you will never know how successful you may become.
