Lars the Loser: A book about winning even when you lose by Ashley Statham @stathamvisuals

About the Book

Lars is a cheerful young boy that loves to compete and play with his friends. His life seems to be filled with losses in everything he does, but Lars takes them better than anyone. With a positive outlook and an ability to find a silver lining in everything, the little boy is never down for long. Whatever happens, he always finds a reason to be happy. This interesting, rhyming story will teach young readers that everyone loses at some point in their life. Qn 2: Who do you think would be interested in this book, is it directed at any particular market?

Lars the Loser is tailored to kids from ages 4-10, but the feedback from all ages has been exceptionally positive. One of the major perks of this book is that it includes two pages of family/classroom discussion questions to help your child process the concepts and create an open discussion.

Qn 3: Out of all the books in the world, and all the authors, which are your favourite and why?

That’s a tough one. I generally love to read non-fiction books but my all time favorite authors are J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter series and all of Agatha Christie’s mystery novels.

Qn 4: What guidance would you offer to someone new, or trying to enhance their writing?

I would advise aspiring authors to not be to afraid to ask for help and do your research. A lot of people never publish because they are overwhelmed by the process, or they think no one will like their book. I say – ask plenty of people for feedback.
