THE STRENGTH OF A REAL WOMAN: Real stories of gratitude about life, love and everything in between.

About the Book

THE STRENGTH OF A REAL WOMAN: Real stories of gratitude about life, love and everything in between offers a re-presentation of womanhood. It is important for us to recognize that we as women have a voice, we are not victims of past traumas. Instead we can choose to grow, to grieve and to heal and that in the end we can find and create a future filled with hope and possibilities.
What inspired you to write *your book?
I wrote this book, “The Strength of a Real Woman” to tell my story, but also to tell our stories as women, for far too long our stories have been told through other people’s lenses, and I really want to stay curious and continue to explore what it sounds like when we tell our own stories..

About the Author

The author is a South African single black woman living in China during the current global pandemic who writes humorously, using relatable language and anecdotes that will have you reading and thinking to yourself how does she do that? As a black African woman who grew up in Africa, through my book I am re-writing the narrative of the silenced, traumatized, barely surviving, always suffering and struggling impoverished black African woman in the media and in literature.

Qn 1: Can you tell us more about your book What is it about?

This is a redemption story of a woman who has been disqualified from love so many times and yet true love found her not in the form of a man, but in the form of the Presence of love itself and it is exactly the Presence of Unconditional love, that has empowered the author to live a life of triumph over adversity. You don’t want to miss out on this true love story not boy meets girl, but girl has a life transformational encounter with the Presence of Unconditional Love and her life and her destiny is forever changed, proof that there is still love in the world, if you would courageously open your heart to true love again.

Qn 2: Who do you think would be interested in this book, is it directed at any particular market?

If you’re a woman looking for a story of hope in the middle of your challenging situation … look no further … this book is short and power packed full of activations, the author invites the reader to take a journey with them into their own testimony and to find their own story of hope in the reading process, this is an interactive journey that will have you sometimes laughing, crying and sometimes even scratching your head.

Qn 3: Out of all the books in the world, and all the authors, which are your favourite and why?

My favorite book and my favorite author is by Gina B. Nahai, “Moonlight on the Avenue of Faith” the genre of this book is magic realism. I also enjoyed the book by Salman Rushdie, “Midnight’s Children” the genre of this book is historiographic metafiction. I enjoy a variety of books and genre of books.

Qn 4: What guidance would you offer to someone new, or trying to enhance their writing?

I would encourage them to start with morning pages, this is a technique, I learned while being part of a creative cluster working through “The Artist’s Way” by Julia Cameron. When you wake up in the morning, you set aside an amount of time, to write your first thoughts, you write anything and everything that comes to mind, even if it sounds like giberish, this is such a good way to start writing, it’s unfiltered, uncensored and it allows you to go process through whatever is on your mind, first thing in the morning, before you get out of bed, check your emails or drink a cup of coffee.
