Qn 1: Can you tell us more about your book, The Girl Who Learned to Live Life Better, What is it about?

I once lived a hopeless life, but God intervened. My mother, asked if I prayed. “No!” I yelled. “No one listens when we pray. No God cares about us!” “You’re wrong!” Mom said. “I will pray you will believe again.” I shouted those words and my mother wept when I said, “No God cares.” Two weeks later my mother died. The journey was one of a bitter life, with moments where I was headhunted to go into prostitution, working my way through college, depressed and even suicidal. But God did care, and a loving God was listening. And I was the girl who learned to live life better as God answered my mother’s prayer and showed up in my life and my family’s in amazing grace ways.

Qn 3: Out of all the books in the world, and all the authors, which are your favourite and why?

I love the Bible, and I love the works of Shakespeare. Shakespeare quotes the Bible throughout his famous works. I love the language, and I still love Old English. Shakespeare worked with King James on the King James translation of the Bible. I love the Bible’s poetry books and Shakespeare’s poetic works. I use a poetic device in my story to share the lessons learned on my prodigal journey. I use an acrostic for BETTER, but most people don’t realize acrostics are found in the Bible. Proverbs 31 is an acrostic.

Qn 4: What guidance would you offer to someone new, or trying to enhance their writing?

A New York Times Best Selling author told me, “Don’t give up!” Persistence and heart pay off!
