About the Author

Rynn emerges as a fresh voice in the literary world.

While her pen has long been busy, it was only recently that she turned her aspirations of becoming an author into reality.

Having earned an Undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice with minors in Sociology and Literature in 2021, Rynn finally decided to take the plunge and dedicate her time to cultivating her passion.

Pursuing her life-long dreams, she introduced her debut novel, Memories of Yesterday, in August 2023—a narrative loosely inspired by her own first love story.

Since then she’s followed her creative inspiration into the mystic world of Mystery and Thriller, genres that she’s very fond of, herself.

When not writing and working her day-job, Rynn can be found cuddled up with her partner, two dogs, and two cats, or traversing the globe in search of new adventures.

Qn 1: Can you tell us more about your book What is it about?

The novel, Memories of Yesterday, tells the story of Adalyn Dawn, a woman who lives in a small forest town called Dawn Hills, and Zack Blake, a newcomer from New York. Their journey commences when Adalyn first meets Zack in 2014 outside a well-known ice cream shop, and continues to follow the two characters over the course of the next two years. During that time, they venture into a wonderful friendship that inevitably leads them to fall in love. However, their kindling romance is met with the battle of external forces, such as crazy ex’s, family, friends, and a surprise addition to their home. In tandem with these external conflicts, they also grapple with the internal challenges that accompany them, such as the imbalance of trust, the emotional strains, and eventually, the feelings of grief and loss not only from each other, but also from some closest to them. Eventually rising above the obstacles striving to keep them apart, their love ultimately triumphs, and they finally find safety in each other’s embrace. However, fate takes a cruel turn when two years into their story, a car crash sends one of them fighting for their life. Remaining by the other’s side until their last breath, it is the memories that they have that keeps them connected to a love that once filled their life with joy.

Qn 2: Who do you think would be interested in this book, is it directed at any particular market?

If they like the writing of the great gatsby or the fault in our stars, they may enjoy this! I wrote this book to grieve one of my own personal losses, but I think that this story goes out to those that need a good cry, or to feel like they’re not alone in grief. It is a hard-hitting book, but it is something I wrote for myself and decided to publish when I realized that it helped overs with their own losses.

Qn 3: Out of all the books in the world, and all the authors, which are your favourite and why?

Although my favorite genre to read is mystery or thriller (which tend to coincide lately), my all-time favorite book is Peter Pan, as it was something I’ve enjoyed since as long as I can remember!

Qn 4: What guidance would you offer to someone new, or trying to enhance their writing?

I think you hear this a lot from the industry, but just write! I suffer from this all the time! I want to go back and edit what I wrote, but that wont help you. If you write first, you get further. You get the main plot points on paper, then you can go back and laugh at your mistakes as you fix it up!
