About the Book
When Karn leaves his small village to study at the prestigious Viswanatha University, he dreams of greatness. But within its ancient halls, where myths of Ravana’s forbidden wisdom linger, Karn finds himself drawn into a world where knowledge is power- and power comes at a price.
As whispers of the past stir ambitions in his heart, Kara must decide how far he’s willing to go to rewrite his destiny. But can a man wield the fire of gods without being burned?
“Ravan in Karn” is a riveting tale of myth, desire, and the timeless struggle between light and shadow. For those who seek greatness and wonder what it might cost, this story dares to ask: is undeserved ambition ever truly worth it? Can a man rise to power without being consumed by it, or does the world only see the greatness and ignore the blunders that came to pass? Is it possible to rewrite one’s destiny without losing oneself in the process? Or does the pursuit of glory ultimately blind us to the consequences of our choices, leaving only the wreckage of a dream?
But what if the answer lies not in what one gains, but in what one loves… and what one must do to keep it hidden?

Qn 1: Can you tell us more about your book What is it about?
“Thank you for asking about Ravan in Karn. This book is not just a story—it’s a bridge between the epic tales of the past and the human struggles of the present. At its core, it’s about Karn, a character who embodies the timeless conflict between ambition and morality, light and shadow. But it’s also about Ravana—the figure from the Ramayana, whose essence lives on in Karn, and perhaps, in all of us.
Ravana, in this story, is not just a legendary figure from the epics; he symbolizes the inner demons we wrestle with. He is the voice that questions our righteousness, tempts us with shortcuts, and challenges the boundaries of our morality. Through Karn’s journey, the book reflects on how these ‘inner Ravanas’ shape our choices, often leading us down paths that test our integrity and our humanity.
This story intertwines the echoes of the Mahabharata and the Ramayana, drawing parallels between their timeless struggles and the challenges we face today. Karn’s character is deeply inspired by the restless ambition of Karna from the Mahabharata and the intellectual brilliance of Ravana from the Ramayana. Like them, he is brilliant and flawed, driven and conflicted. He carries within him the weight of their legacies, their strengths, and their vulnerabilities.
The title, Ravan in Karn, is a deliberate nod to this connection. It represents the eternal battle within us all—the battle between ambition and humility, shortcuts and perseverance, darkness and light. Through Karn’s story, I wanted to explore how these ancient dilemmas still resonate in our modern lives. Writing this book felt like unraveling layers of human nature, diving into the myths and legends that shaped us, and connecting them to the choices we face today.
Ultimately, this is a story about transformation. It’s about understanding that the Ravana within doesn’t make us less human; it challenges us to grow. It’s about finding balance—learning from our past, confronting our shadows, and striving for a future that reflects not just what we achieve, but who we become.”
Qn 2: Who do you think would be interested in this book, is it directed at any particular market?
“Just like the timeless epics of the Ramayana and Mahabharata, Ravan in Karn is for absolutely everyone. It transcends age, gender, race, and ethnicity because it delves into something universal—the human experience of ambition, morality, and self-discovery.
That said, I believe the story will resonate most with the youth. It’s for those who are still finding their way, trying to understand their purpose, or perhaps seeking the path that leads to it. The pressures of modern life—whether from society, family, or their own expectations—can often push them toward choosing their inner Ravana. It’s easy to feel tempted by shortcuts to success, to be blinded by the promise of power or achievement, without fully realizing the weight of responsibility and maturity that comes with it.
This book is a reflection of that journey—the choices we make under stress, anxiety, or pressure, and the mistakes that shape us when we fail to understand what true power requires. It’s not just a cautionary tale but also a story of redemption, growth, and finding balance between the Ravana within and the light that guides us. I hope this book inspires readers, particularly young ones, to embrace the challenges on their path, to resist the allure of shortcuts, and to discover the strength that comes from earning their way to greatness.”
Qn 3: Out of all the books in the world, and all the authors, which are your favourite and why?
“That’s such an interesting question! Out of all the books and authors in the world, one of my favorites is Italo Calvino. His work isn’t as mainstream as some others, but his brilliance lies in how he combines intellect with imagination.
Take Invisible Cities, for example. It’s not just a book—it’s an experience. Calvino writes about cities Marco Polo describes to Kublai Khan, but the cities aren’t real in a geographical sense; they’re metaphors, reflections of human experience, emotion, and thought. The layers of meaning in his work are extraordinary. You can read it as poetic storytelling, or you can dive deeper into its philosophical exploration of memory, desire, and identity.
What I admire most about Calvino is his ability to make you think without feeling like you’re being lectured. He challenges your perception of reality in the most elegant way, blending intellect with narrative in a way that feels timeless. He’s a writer who shows that literature isn’t just about telling stories—it’s about discovering truths within them.
For me, Calvino’s work is a reminder that books are bridges—not just to new worlds, but to deeper understandings of ourselves. That’s what I aspire to create in my own writing: stories that entertain, yes, but also resonate on a much deeper level.”
Qn 4: What guidance would you offer to someone new, or trying to enhance their writing?
“Writing is such a personal and evolving journey, and the guidance I’d offer is rooted in my own experience as a writer. Here are a few thoughts that I believe can help someone new to writing or looking to enhance their craft:
Write What Moves You
Start with what you care deeply about—emotions, questions, or ideas that resonate with you. When you write from a place of passion, your words carry authenticity, and that’s something readers will always connect with.
Don’t Chase Perfection
Writing is rewriting. Your first draft is never going to be perfect—and that’s okay. Allow yourself to write freely and imperfectly, knowing that editing and refining come later. It’s in the process of revising that the magic truly happens.
Read Widely and Observe Deeply
Great writers are voracious readers. Explore diverse genres, styles, and cultures to expand your perspective. At the same time, pay attention to the world around you—small moments, conversations, and observations often contain the seeds of powerful stories.
Discipline Over Inspiration
Waiting for inspiration can keep you from starting. Set aside regular time to write, even if it’s just a few minutes a day. Treat writing as a practice, like exercising a muscle—it will grow stronger with consistency.
Find Your Voice
Don’t try to emulate others. It’s great to learn from the writers you admire, but your unique voice is what makes your story worth telling. Experiment, take risks, and allow your style to evolve over time.
Embrace Feedback
Sharing your work can be intimidating, but feedback is invaluable. Whether it’s from peers, mentors, or readers, listen to constructive criticism with an open mind. It will help you grow, but remember to stay true to your vision.
Be Patient With Yourself
Writing is not a race—it’s a journey. Allow yourself the time to improve, to fail, and to learn from those failures. Every word you write brings you closer to the writer you’re meant to be.
Lastly, remember that every writer’s journey is unique. Don’t compare your path to someone else’s. Trust your process, stay curious, and most importantly, enjoy the act of writing. After all, it’s through storytelling that we discover ourselves and the world around us.”
