About the Book
Urbannature4kids Earth Science Lesson Plan contains plenty of Earth Science worksheets, quizzes, puzzles, games, and videos for children in grades K-4. The activities will expose elementary school-aged children to environmental STEM career fields at an early age. There are also GIS (geographic information systems) activities for children by ESRI. The lesson plan will definitely be beneficial for children with low science test scores. The lesson plan is also beneficial to parents or elementary teachers who are homeschooling.

About the Author
Raven Wright is the Founder and CEO of the Detroit non-profit organization, Urban Nature for Kids. Raven founded Urban Nature for Kids three years ago while attending Urban Planning graduate school at Wayne State University. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology and a Master’s in Urban Planning. Her main area of focus while attending graduate school was Geographic Information Systems. During graduate school, Raven taught elementary school (K-6) part time. She was also employed as a GIS analyst for a capstone course with the Detroit non-profit organization, Focus Hope. During her experience as a teacher, Raven noticed that children who reside in low income communities were not being exposed to Earth Science career fields. She also noticed that there was a lack of Earth Science education within elementary schools. Raven believes children can benefit from being exposed to Earth Science career fields at an early age, that is why she created and founded Urban Nature for Kids. Qn 1: Can you tell us more about your book What is it about?
The “Urbannature4kids Earth Science Lesson Plan: Earth Science for Elementary School-Aged Children in grades K-4” is mainly geared towards children in grades K-4. The eBook contains worksheets, puzzles, games, and quizzes that are all related to Earth Science. Also, the eBook exposes children to Earth Science career fields. Career fields such as Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Geology, and GIS (Geographic Information Systems).
Qn 2: Who do you think would be interested in this book, is it directed at any particular market?
I believe that children who reside in low income communities will definitely benefit from the lesson plan. Children that reside in low income communities are unfortunately not exposed to diverse career fields. Children with low science test scores can benefit from the lesson plan as well. Also, parents and teachers can use the lesson plan for in-classroom and virtual learning.
Qn 3: Out of all the books in the world, and all the authors, which are your favourite and why?
I would recommend these three children books by these fabulous authors:
Number one is a classic and I believe all children should have a copy, “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” by Eric Carle. This book has awesome illustrations for children.
Number 2 is another classic, “The Very Busy Spider. The illustrations are awesome!
Number 3 I believe is important especially today, “The Day My Kids Stayed Home: Explaining COVID-19 to Your Kids by Adam M. Wallace.” I chose this book because children may have plenty of questions about why we had to quarantine and what all happened during the pandemic.
Qn 4: What guidance would you offer to someone new, or trying to enhance their writing?
I would highly recommend new authors to think first and brainstorm about the description of your book. Think about your target audience, genre, and your selling platform.
