About the Book
We all want to live well and be happy 365 days a year. Unfortunately, life gets in the way sometimes. It gets in everyone’s way. Shenine understands this deeply. But she’s also discovered that you cannot allow, “the magnitude of your pain, to hide the miracle in your pain.” In this book, “Beauty for Ashes,” you will see that your pain has a greater purpose. You will experience the hidden beauty of surrendering your ashes in exchange for something worth persevering through. Your experiences, hurts, pains, disappointments, and inadequacies are your feelings signalling for you to draw nearer to God with an open heart and open arms.

Qn 1: Can you tell us more about your book What is it about?
What do we do when the darkness will not lift? What do we do when the darkness of depression and despair has surrounded us and there seems to be no light anywhere? And the worst part of it is that it feels like God is nowhere to be found. Beauty for Ashes is about surrendering our ashes (wounds) in exchange for His beauty. It’s about seeing that our pain serves a greater purpose.
Qn 2: Who do you think would be interested in this book, is it directed at any particular market?
Women of faith
Qn 3: Out of all the books in the world, and all the authors, which are your favourite and why?
When Breathe Becomes Air by Paul Kalanithi. It’s so relatable and reminds us to live life and cherish the beauty that surrounds us in the present. So often we want to leap for the next big thing.
Their Eyes Were Watching God by Zora Neale Hurston. It showed how it was for a woman like Janie to survive throughout these tragic times. This book has taught me much about how people can change in tough situations.
Forgiving What You Can’t Forget by Lysa TerKeurst. Reminds me that forgiveness is not something to do, it’s something to live every minute of every day.
Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis. Mere Christianity” is not at all about what Christianity should be, but about what mortals (as he puts it), should behave like and the divisions amongst us. He speaks of union and equality among us, which is quite frankly, essential in our world today and the common enemy, the destroyer, and the battle which is right in front of us today!
Qn 4: What guidance would you offer to someone new, or trying to enhance their writing?
Read, Read, and Read Some More! More importantly, don’t try to impress others just be your authentic self.
