Joey’s Place : A Small Town, Romantic Comedy

About the Book

It was a life-changing, secret-revealing day when sweet young Andrew Cooper met scared little Elizabeth Clark. He held her hand and comforted her. She was his Beth, and he was her Drew, and for a little while, they weren’t alone.

Fifteen years later, Beth finds herself down on her luck and returns to town, where she accepts a job from Drew’s dad at his bar, Joey’s Place. When she discovers the two men now have a rocky relationship, Beth decides she has to be the one to fix it.

Andrew isn’t interested in mending fences with his dad. He’s not the sweet boy he was back then. He doesn’t believe in relationships, and he doesn’t do love. So why can’t he get this girl that calls him Drew out of his head?

Beth is determined; she refuses to give up on the Drew she knows still exists behind his cocky and steely facade. But when she finds herself falling for his charms, is she setting herself up for a fall?

Come pop up a stool and find out at Joey’s Place!

About the Author

I am happily married with two huge dogs. In addition to writing, I love gardening, reading and binging great shows.

I have both some formally published stories many that are free to read, and many more in the pipeline!

I like to bend the rules of the trope I write in and let my characters drive the way. I am an emotional writer, and while I have both lighter-hearted and heavier stories, I try and balance both laughs and tears, along with passion and angst in any story I tell.

So, in short, I write emotional roller coasters.

Qn 1: Can you tell us more about your book What is it about?

This is a small-town romantic comedy that revolves around Beth and Drew who met as kids during a traumatic day and comforted each other. They collide again 15 years later outside his estranged dad’s bar, Joey’s Place when Beth takes a job for Joey. She quickly realizes Drew and Joey are at odds and takes it upon herself to be the one to fix them. Even if Drew doesn’t want her too.

Qn 2: Who do you think would be interested in this book, is it directed at any particular market?

Anyone that’s looking for a sweet romance that still has a deeper emotional story along with it will love this. It’s a great mix of laughter, sweetness, and drama with lots of sparks between the mains.

Qn 3: Out of all the books in the world, and all the authors, which are your favourite and why?

I love Jodi Picoult and Nicholas Sparks as I love emotional books that can make me cry.

Qn 4: What guidance would you offer to someone new, or trying to enhance their writing?

Just write it! Take that story in your head and get it on paper. The first draft is just the bones, but you need the bones, so start there, and it’ll only improve from there.

Qn 5: Where can our readers find out more about you, do you have a website, or a way to be contacted?

My website is www.heidimaesbooks.com
