About the Author
Rose Bakewell is a loving mother to three beautiful children and an adorable dog named Ollie. She is an avid baker and an award-winning author.
Qn 1: Can you tell us more about your book What is it about?
This book is the first from a series of 13. It follows a loving family who always happens to find a reason to bake. There is a recipe card attached to the back of the book in a little pocket and children have to read the story to find the method. It’s a book that makes you feel comfy cozy but also a fun activity you can do with the whole family.
Lottie is a very polite and kind little girl but her rambunctious older cousins are invited to her tea party because—hey, they’re family! But, inevitably things go a bit awry and Lottie is left to choose whether she should let it go or speak up. It’s a really sweet book for all ages.
Qn 2: Who do you think would be interested in this book, is it directed at any particular market?
I think children of all ages would be interested in this book because it gives them a sense of security and warmth from the love this family has for one another. It’s also directed towards anyone who loves to bake!
Qn 3: Out of all the books in the world, and all the authors, which are your favourite and why?
Ooh that’s a difficult one. There are so many wonderful books by brilliant authors out there.
Qn 4: What guidance would you offer to someone new, or trying to enhance their writing?
I would be a hypocrite if I gave them any guidance as it’s the complete opposite of what I do. I would love to say go to a quiet cabin in the woods and be one with nature but the reality is, how we live now, the noise doesn’t stop and being a mother of 3 children, there is no quiet time or my time so I find myself scribbling things down as they come to me and revisiting it when all the kids are in bed!
Qn 5: Where can our readers find out more about you, do you have a website, or a way to be contacted?
I’m not too fond of social media so I usually have others run those for me but my website is www.rosebakewell.com and anyone can reach out to me through the contacts page.
