Qn 1: Can you tell us more about your book What is it about?
Absolutely! The Growing with God Bible Series is a collection created especially for children ages 6 to 9. My goal with this series is to take timeless Bible stories and present them in a way that young readers can easily understand, enjoy, and connect with personally. Each book uses simple language, vibrant illustrations, and clear lessons to help children see how God’s love and guidance are present in everyday life.
The stories are designed not only to introduce key moments and characters from the Bible, but also to nurture important values—like courage, kindness, forgiveness, and trust. Every story includes a short prayer or reflection page that encourages children to pause, think, and apply what they’ve learned to their own lives.
Overall, the heart of the series is to help kids build a strong spiritual foundation and discover that God is with them in moments of joy, worry, decision-making, and growth. It’s about planting seeds of faith that can grow with them throughout their lives.
Qn 2: Who do you think would be interested in this book, is it directed at any particular market?
This series is designed primarily for children ages 6 to 9, but it truly reaches a wider audience. Young readers who are beginning to explore the Bible on their own—or with a little guidance—will find the stories easy to follow, engaging, and relatable.
Parents, grandparents, and caregivers looking for faith-based resources will also appreciate how the series reinforces important values like kindness, obedience, courage, and trusting God. It’s a wonderful tool for bedtime reading, family devotionals, or quiet reflection time.
The books are also well-suited for Christian schools, Sunday schools, children’s ministries, and homeschooling families. Educators and ministry leaders will find that the simple lessons and reflection pages make teaching biblical principles both fun and effective.
In short, the series speaks to any family or community wanting to help children grow spiritually, build strong character, and understand that God is always with them.
Qn 3: Out of all the books in the world, and all the authors, which are your favourite and why?
I have quite a few favorites, but the ones that have stayed closest to my heart are the authors who write with a sense of purpose, compassion, and clarity—especially those who speak to young readers. I’ve always admired writers who can take deep spiritual truths and communicate them in simple, meaningful ways.
Of course, the Bible itself is my greatest source of inspiration. Its stories, lessons, and promises have shaped my faith and continue to guide me as a writer. Beyond that, I love authors like Max Lucado, who has a beautiful gift for making God’s love feel personal and accessible. His storytelling inspires me to write in a way that comforts, encourages, and uplifts.
I also appreciate children’s authors such as C.S. Lewis. Although his work spans many ages, his ability to weave faith, imagination, and moral lessons together is something I deeply admire. He shows that stories can entertain while also planting seeds of truth in young hearts.
Overall, I’m drawn to authors who write with heart—those who remind readers of God’s presence, goodness, and purpose. They inspire me to do the same for the children and families reading The Growing with God Bible Series.
Qn 4: What guidance would you offer to someone new, or trying to enhance their writing?
The first thing I would say is: just begin. Many new writers get stuck waiting for the perfect moment or the perfect idea, but writing grows with practice. Start with what’s on your heart, even if it feels small. Every paragraph you write strengthens your voice.
Secondly, read often and widely. Pay attention to how other authors tell stories, build emotion, or explain ideas clearly. You’ll naturally absorb techniques that will help improve your own writing.
Another important tip is to write with your audience in mind. Whether you’re writing for children, teens, or adults, think about what they need—what will inspire them, encourage them, or help them see the world differently.
Also, don’t be afraid to rewrite and refine. Good writing usually becomes great writing in the editing stage. Be patient with yourself, and view revision as part of the creative journey.
Finally, especially for faith-based writers, stay connected to your purpose. Pray for guidance, clarity, and the right words. When your writing flows from a place of authenticity and intention, it becomes more meaningful and impactful.
Writing is a journey, not a race—keep growing, keep learning, and keep going.
