Dwelling Near While Entering Paradise was originally self-published as Here AND Not There. It is about an Orthodox Jewish girl who, when she was 8 years old she was living with her mother who converted to Catholicism and her Stepfather. On the day of her First Holy Communion, her two-year-old brother falls to his death.
Bridgit’s mother blames her and abandons her. Her Aunt sends for her father, who is an Orthodox Rabbi in Upstate New York. With a new name, Bridgit now Chaya is engulfed in the warmth of a loving Jewish home with her gaggle of sisters and a brother. Chaya is enjoying a wonderful life and she’s mentored by a woman who becomes a good mentor and friend. Oh and she happens to be dead. Chaya’s late little brother also comes along on occasion to help her with her struggles and fear of abandonment.
