The Boss of Hampton Beach

About the Book

Cocaine. Dan Marlowe is doing his damnedest to stay away from the stuff. It’s already cost him his family and his business, The High Tide Restaurant & Saloon. Now a bartender at the Tide, Dan’s life is slowly stabilizing. That is, until a boat with two dead bodies on board is found wrecked on the jetty at Hampton Beach. The hunt for its missing cargo, 200 pounds of cocaine, is on. Dan is forced into the search and realizes that the drug that stole everything short of his life might be the one thing that can give it all back. He’s not the only one seeking fortune in white powder. Others, on both sides of the law, are after it too, including a Boston mob boss and his right-hand man; a New Hampshire seacoast drug dealer/informer, his smokin’ hot girlfriend, and his dim-witted muscle; a crooked D.E.A. agent and his junkie sidekick; two New Hampshire State policemen; and an Irish handyman. It’s a violent, back-stabbing race to the end of the rainbow. May the best man win.

About the Author

My name is Jed Power. I am the author of the 8-book Dan Marlowe/ Hampton Beach, NH Crime Series. I
also have a completed screenplay adapting the first book in this Series, “The Boss of Hampton Beach,” into a one-hour Pilot, which could easily be converted to a Feature. I have a completed Show Bible explaining in detail this proposed TV Series. I also have completed shorts and have many ideas for others based on two characters from my book Series. Ed-die Hoar & Derwood Doller are two bumbling, low-life, small-time beach hustlers. Any of these shorts can easily be adapted to TV or Features.

I have been a long-time Active member of the “Mystery Writers of America.’ I have another published novel, “The Combat Zone,.” Which is the first book in a planned series about a P.I.whose office is in early 1970’s Hippie-era Harvard Square, Cambridge, MA. On this, his first case, he spends an unhealthy amount of time in Boston’s notorious red-light district, known as the Combat Zone. This book was a finalist for the Saint Martin’s Press/ Private Eye Writers of America “Best First P.I. Novel” Award. After suffering a massive stroke, which left me totally paralyzed on one -side, I was able to finish book 8 in the series, “Hampton Beach

Heist,” by pecking away at the keyboard with one-finger. I also took the recuperation time to study the art of screen writing and to work on scripts. After three years of physical therapy ,I am now 75% back to my
pre-stroke self. I also have a completed 1/2 hour Dramedy TV pilot concerning my stroke journey.
I am now looking for an Agent, Manager or Producer to come on board with any of these projects. All are
available on request. jedpower@verizo
