About the Book
It is a muggy September on Galveston Island in 1900. A second-year medical student and his friends experience the strange legends of Jean Lafitte after a night on the town. Now, he must decide whether he was hallucinating or heed a dire warning from the spectral world, all while avoiding a descent into madness. Prepare to visit the Maison Rouge, if you dare.
About the Author
I am a stay at home, homeschooling mom living in the great state of Texas!
Coming from a law enforcement family, I have always loved a good tale of true crime. I find them fascinating, but I have a tendency to lean a bit to the more macabre side of life.
I also have quite the thing for all things weird and kooky. If you want to talk paranormal, supernatural, the odd and unexplained… I’m your girl!
When I’m not reading up on my “murder stories” (as my husband so lovingly puts it), playing D&D, or watching some sort of magical movie or show, I am rescuing and fostering senior dogs. Other than my children, that is my lifelong passion!
So please remember to adopt, not shop!
Qn 1: Can you tell us more about your book What is it about?
Hell Hound Harbingers takes place in the days leading up to the Galveston, Texas hurricane of 1900 and one man’s supernatural encounter at Jean Lafitte’s Maison Rouge.
Qn 2: Who do you think would be interested in this book, is it directed at any particular market?
This is a short, 15-minute story so it is perfect to read on the bus, waiting for your kiddos, or let’s be real, even in the bathroom. It is perfect for anyone who just wants to get lost in another time and place for just a little while. There are some “spooky” elements, but nothing even the faintest of the heart can’t handle!
Qn 3: Out of all the books in the world, and all the authors, which are your favourite and why?
My favourite books and authors… I would have to say Douglas Adams is my all-time favourite author. I love getting lost in Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy and his humour is right up my alley.
I also love Christopher Moore. Lamb: The Gospel According to Biff, Christ’s Childhood Pal, laughs out loud funny to me. It is irreverent and sweet and just makes me happy to read.
Qn 4: What guidance would you offer to someone new, or trying to enhance their writing?
I am still learning and growing myself! I think the most important thing is to just keep going! There will never be a perfect time, a perfect set-up, a perfect story… just go with it… take the leap!
Qn 5: Where can our readers find out more about you, do you have a website, or a way to be contacted?
My sister is a writer too so we share a webpage! You can visit us at www.metimebooks.com
