The Gryphon Torn is the fourth book in the Gryphon series and picks up from the end of the third, The Gryphon Down.
Griff, the reclusive blind former soldier with extrasensory abilities, is beginning to think he can finally lead a regular life when a new friend calls in a big favour.
Unwilling to risk his future, he declines the request for help with disastrous consequences.
When asked to make amends, he struggles, with lying to protect his new life, while saving the man that helped him achieve it.
He is out of his depth, in a foreign country and making mistakes that lead to pain, suffering and murder.
He’s torn between saving lives or exposing the truth that will change the whole world forever while longing to return to the family he has been waiting a lifetime for.
About the Author
C.G.Loggie is an English Australian part-time author.
After years of ignoring the stories running through his head, he finally started letting them out, onto paper and into E-Books.
He is encouraged by family and friends, borrowing some of their names as characters and anecdotes as storylines.
The first group revolve around a mysterious reclusive blind former soldier, with extrasensory abilities, by the name of Griffin Mannock.
Qn 1: Can you tell us more about your book What is it about?
It’s inspired by a guy I once saw sitting by a row of cash machines and wondered, ‘What if he could hear the people’s thoughts, or get with PIN?” The character and stories developed into a reclusive blind Falkland war veteran, surviving on the streets and finally making his way back home and into more trouble!
In this fourth book in the series, he is on the cusp of settling down into a life he could only dream about when he is asked to pay back a favour, ignoring all advice, he risks losing everything to help out a friend.
Qn 2: Out of all the books in the world, and all the authors, which are your favourite and why?
Robert Galbraith’s ‘Cormoran strike’ series seems to resonate with me, balancing adventure, intrigue and mystery.
Qn 3: What guidance would you offer to someone new, or trying to enhance their writing?
I found this quote when I started writing and it’s so true :
“You don’t start out writing good stuff. You start out writing crap and thinking it’s good stuff, and then gradually you get better at it. That’s why I say one of the most valuable traits is persistence.” ― Octavia E. Butler.
