Search for the Pearl Inside Yourself: Inspiration and Motivation for Young Adults by Diana Jackson @Riduna

About the Book

‘Search for the Pearl Inside Yourself’ is in Diana Jackson’s Inspirational and Motivational Series, aimed at Young Adults. It is a little book of encouragement to help through tough times and what seem to be insurmountable decisions. It includes quotations, ideas and thought-provoking mind tasks to help the reader to let go of those things which are holding them back and to find a more fulfilling direction. Its beautiful photographs lead you through seascapes, on beaches and to rock pools on your journey to discover the pearl inside yourself.

About the Author

Once a tutor of 16 to 19-year-olds in a Bedfordshire College of Further Education, Diana Jackson is now retired, filling her time with writing and volunteering in her local community. Part of her psyche is ‘you gain more from life by giving something of yourself back.’ This little book was inspired by her work with young people. Diana has also published four novels, a biography and a fantasy memoir.

Qn 1: Can you tell us more about your book What is it about?

Search for the Pearl Inside Yourself is all about finding yourself by acknowledging your strengths, gifts, thoughts and dreams, but also by facing those emotions or influences which might be holding you back.
Sometimes we need to look inside ourselves and take some time to reflect, in order to move forward in a positive way. We need to expand our line of vision to possibilities we had never thought of too, and to be an area that the pathway to our goals my have unexpected twists and turns. Everyone has a pearl inside them; a hidden beauty. I hope this little book goes a little way to help you find yours.

Qn 2: Who do you think would be interested in this book, is it directed at any particular market?

The e book version is directed to a Young Adult market particularly, although I’ve been told it helps older folks too. They may be school or college leavers who really don’t know what to do next. Maybe their chosen path is closed to them (or made more difficult) especially due to recent times.

There is a paperback version too, which is a gift book to give to someone you care about who is also struggling right now. This is in my Inspirational and Motivational Series.

Qn 3: Out of all the books in the world, and all the authors, which are your favourite and why?

The Skallagrigg by William Horwood is my all-time favourite and my copy is falling to bits. It had such an impact on my view of the world and my way of appreciating my fellow human beings.
Jean Auel and the Clan of the Cave Bear Series influenced my enthusiasm to use history as my inspiration; how an author can explore and research a historical period with such vigour and yet weave stories that are almost fantasy, the period in history being so long ago.

Qn 4: What guidance would you offer to someone new, or trying to enhance their writing?

Keep writing and improving your skills but above all enjoy what you do.

Qn 5: Where can our readers find out more about you, do you have a website, or a way to be contacted?
