Qn 3: Out of all the books in the world, and all the authors, which are your favourite and why?
I was introduced to the love of reading by my darling Grandmother who raised me. What’s so interesting about her is she only had a 9th-grade education but she was an avid reader. I think this was her escape from her reality and the backwoods of growing up in Harlan Kentucky. She introduced me to the Bible which has become my saving grace and from there I became an avid reader of fiction that created a world of hope. I am a fan of Jane Austen’s books.
Qn 4: What guidance would you offer to someone new, or trying to enhance their writing?
If I were to offer guidance to someone new or trying to enhance their writing, I would emphasize the importance of being true to oneself. Writing is a deeply personal and creative endeavor, and it is essential to stay true to your own voice, ideas, and style. Don’t try to imitate others or conform to what you think is expected. Instead, embrace your unique perspective and let it shine through in your writing.
What motivates me as a writer is the power of words to connect, inspire, and evoke emotions. I am an emotional writer. I believe that writing has the ability to touch hearts, change minds, and make a difference in the world. This belief fuels my passion and drives me to continually improve my craft. I find motivation in the stories I want to tell, the messages I want to share, and the impact I hope to have on readers.
I encourage you to let this belief be your foundation as well. Find what motivates you, whether it’s a desire to entertain, educate, or make a positive impact. Let your passion guide you and infuse your writing with authenticity and purpose. Remember that writing is a journey of self-discovery and growth. Embrace the process, be open to feedback and learning, and never stop honing your skills.
