About the Author
Todd Smith is a carpenter from Brisbane who has spent his entire adult life building houses, but when it comes to reading and writing he has always felt a little wobbly. So, like Wayne, Todd decided to try something new and out of the blue, here is a new book just for you.
I hope Wayne brings some excitement to your day and inspires you to do something different too, maybe something you never thought you could do.
Qn 1: Can you tell us more about your book What is it about?
The underlying message of the book is having a go at something even if you feel like you can’t.
it is about a watermelon that is wobbly and decides to go on an adventure to Terry’s taekwondo to cure his wibbles. a cascade of mistakes after mistake finally gets him there with a happy ending for Wayne
Qn 2: Who do you think would be interested in this book, is it directed at any particular market?
It’s for children ages 4 to 8 but also fun for the parents to read.
Qn 3: Out of all the books in the world, and all the authors, which are your favourite and why?
Vincent the Vein by Sam Lloyd is one of my all-time favourite children’s books to read to my kids.
I love the way it’s written and putting on a voice for Vincent is fun.
Qn 4: What guidance would you offer to someone new, or trying to enhance their writing?
just go for it! the joy of writing is there are no rules
