Rembrandt, Vermeer, Degas still Missing: (Fiction Based on a True Event)
(Based on a true event} Special Agent Neil Hammer is assigned to an old FBI case titled: Operation Old Masters. The case stems from a historical theft on March 18, 1990, from the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston in which multiple works of art were stolen. His assignment begins with the Boston mafia, believed to be at the core of the missing masters paintings valued at hundreds of millions of dollars.
Reese Summers, a freelance reporter, is hired by a Boston newspaper editor to look into the recent death of Joey Cardosi. Cardosi happened to be a long-time friend of Alfredo Marino, a mafiosi member believed to be involved with the heist. Intrigued by the puzzling crime in which no arrests or artwork has been recovered, she quickly immerses herself into the underbelly of the criminal world.
The two unlikely, hard-nosed, characters team up to tackle a cold case which has yet to be solved.

About the Author
Anthony was born and raised west of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He went into military service at seventeen and retired after serving twenty years. He is a Vietnam veteran. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Anthony made a second career as a civil servant in the U.S. government. Being a hearty, old fool, he enjoys vacationing along beaches and the coastline when not writing.
Anthony’s novels and short stories are popular with readers worldwide because they contain all the ingredients that are encompassed in a great story. He says, “Sometimes you simply need to trust your gut.”
Qn 1: Can you tell us more about your book, Rembrandt, Vermeer, Degas still MissingWhat is it about?
I’m not sure how it all happened, but I came across an article about a Boston Museum heist that has never been resolved. After learning the details of the robbery, I wondered if I could create my own version of the story. I used the museum theft of Old Masters as the story plot, but from there… well, my imagination took hold. I also decided to bring together two characters from my other books for this journey. They did not disappoint me. Although a work of fiction, perhaps it will bring this historical robbery back into the present and generate new leads as to the famous painting’s whereabouts.
Qn 2: Who do you think would be interested in this book, Rembrandt, Vermeer, Degas still Missing, is it directed at any particular market?
Although classified as a thriller or suspense book, anyone who enjoys a good mystery should be interested in this story. However, full disclosure, there is a bit of adult language peppered throughout.
Qn 3: What guidance would you offer to someone new, or trying to enhance their writing?
Keep at it. Don’t let anyone discourage you. Also, keep a thesaurus near you at all times.
