About the Author

Based in Feilding, New Zealand and a Registered Nurse by profession, I started creating low content books for patients as a hobby when I saw a real need due to the boredom of hospitals.

When I’m not working or pursuing this hobby, I can be found supporting my teenage daughter or gardening.

Qn 1: Can you tell us more about your book, Shit Just Got Real, What is it about?

It is a journal for those on the recovery path from depression. You can record your mood and thoughts on a day to day basis to monitor your progress which can be discussed with your treatment team. It also has a mindfulness prompt journal to ground you in the here and now and set small achievable goals each day to support your recovery.

Unlike most journals, this one has a depression tracker, mindfulness journal, and animal mandala images to colour all in one book.

Qn 2: Who do you think would be interested in this book, Shit Just Got Real:, is it directed at any particular market?

As a gift to a loved one, you are supporting to recover from depression. For those working in the mental health or counselling industries when doing client work. Or really just for anyone serious about getting out from under the black cloud and reclaiming their lives.

Qn 3: Out of all the books in the world, and all the authors, which are your favourite and why?

I love reading biographies. I’m sure most use ghostwriters these days.

My favourite author has got to be New Zealand’s Janet Frame who wrote her own work.

Qn 4: What guidance would you offer to someone new, or trying to enhance their writing?

Write what you are passionate about. If nothing else, it is something you will be about to keep and give your children, grandchildren and so on. A legacy!! If you touch or change a life on the way then that’s a bonus.
