Qn 1: Can you tell us more about your book What is it about?
Recruitability is a guide for job seekers, from the perspective of a recruiter. It explains three different ways you can approach your job search online (job-first method, company-first method, and reactive method). This book also gives valuable insight from the hiring manager and/or recruiter’s perspective on how to: update your LinkedIn and social profiles for better visibility, create and format your resume, submit applications, prepare for interviews, negotiate offers, and network with others. There are several examples of text, questions, and negotiating tactics you can use right away.
Qn 2: Who do you think would be interested in this book, is it directed at any particular market?
Any job seeker, from entry-level to executive-level, in any professional field (i.e. corporate, agencies or consulting firms, startups, small to medium-sized businesses, etc.). This book provides strategies for job seeking online, so it may not apply to folks looking for vocational or academic careers.
Qn 3: Out of all the books in the world, and all the authors, which are your favourite and why?
Steve Dalton: Have to give him a shout out for paving the way in the job seeker community! He wrote a phenomenal book called “The 2-Hour Job Search” many years ago. We discuss some similar topics, yet you’ll find 2023-related content in my book, Recruitability 🙂
Jordan Peterson: Unmatched in my opinion in terms of quality content, and psychological subject matter that applies to all.
James Clear: Atomic Habits
Qn 4: What guidance would you offer to someone new, or trying to enhance their writing?
Just write it and get it out there. My book is not perfect, it will never be, no one’s book is. Begin sharing your knowledge with the world – it’s valuable, it’s needed. You’ll learn along the way and become a better author every step of the way.
Qn 5: Where can our readers find out more about you, do you have a website, or a way to be contacted?
Currently, I don’t have a website but I’m planning on launching one in the future, and possibly a YouTube channel as well! Readers are welcome to check out my profile and background on LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/nikkiniemczycki/
