About the Book
This guide will be the beginning of a daily journey into becoming a recognised leader of people, intended to shape your mindset into that of someone able to take on the responsibility of carrying another’s burden and to release their potential.
But that will only be possible once you can place the team’s needs above your own and accept the fact you are there to serve them, not the other way round.
Only by serving and providing for their needs you are creating a better person in each one of those around you.
The greatest gift to someone is that of a free mind, the freedom to think.
About the Author
Born in the small island of S.Tome&Principe and raised in the southern Portuguese coast areas.
My journey has started many years ago, with many lessons learned, many failures along the way, however past experiences provide big enough baggage to certify my passionate delivery on the matters of leadership…
Qn 1: Can you tell us more about your book What is it about?
Honestly speaking this has all begun as a joke, nonetheless, over the years it evolved to a more serious project as I did realise the fact there was a lack of understanding on matters of leadership from those self-proclaimed Leaders, in many organisations.
Was painful and quite embarrassing to see that those meant to lead and alleviate the daily tensions and doubts were in reality the ones creating the most unrest.
I would take such joy by having my book deliver a positive impact and eventually having both leaders and follower question themselves, would love to see both sides looking into the mirror and questioning “what can I do to help?”
How great and fruitful would that day be?
Qn 2: Who do you think would be interested in this book, is it directed at any particular market?
Would like to believe that everyone and anyone who leads or follows shall benefit from this book.
Regardless of business nature or size, construction or office, structural role or degree you will benefit from the clear and bold take on leadership matters.
My book delivers a pragmatic and challenging perspective of leadership, looking to highlight failures from both sides and delivering clear exercises to support improvement and continuous development.
Qn 3: Out of all the books in the world, and all the authors, which are your favourite and why?
Over the years have followed great leaders and Scholars, from Socrates to Obama and few others, however, J. Williams has impressed with “how to read people like a book” as I believe that the skill and ability to read your team’s state of mind is the one missing to most leaders, you got to be able to spot and see or feel from far that your team needs a flexible or a more strict side to you and act upon it.
Your ability to adjust and engage with your team should be a reflection of your reading to their moral state and individual requirements.
Qn 4: What guidance would you offer to someone new, or trying to enhance their writing?
Lots of reading and writing, lose the fear and embarrassment, watch movies, talk to people from different backgrounds and cultures, but focus on one thing: the outcome, keep in mind that in case wanting to learn you must develop your own methods, pace and path, we all have learning abilities but at a different pace, and finally make sure to make notes make reviews to your doubts and improvement will come about.
Qn 5: Where can our readers find out more about you, do you have a website, or a way to be contacted?
